Powered By Transformation: Nonprofit Website Design

Powered By Transformation (PByT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uses strength training as a standard of care in recovery from substance use and mental health challenges. When PByT approached me, they needed a digital home that could communicate their mission, build credibility with treatment centers and partners, drive registration for their annual powerlifting fundraisers, and introduce visitors to the team of trainers and board members behind the organization. The result is a purposeful, story-driven website that serves multiple audiences without feeling cluttered.
Project Overview:
The primary objective was to create a website that clearly articulates PByT's FIT Recovery Program while making it easy for treatment centers to explore partnership opportunities. The site also needed to support annual events that fund the program, showcase the personal stories of board members and trainers, and give donors and sponsors clear next steps. Balancing these audiences in a single, easy-to-navigate experience was the heart of the project.
Design Approach:
The design supports PByT's "Rise. Renew. Transform." tagline with a confident, grounded feel. Strong imagery of training and community anchors each section, with the organization's logo and color palette carried consistently throughout. The homepage moves visitors through mission, vision, and values, into the program explanation, and then into audience-specific messaging for treatment centers. Testimonials from program participants and volunteers give the site emotional weight and credibility.
Key Features:
- Partner-Focused Messaging: Dedicated homepage sections speak directly to treatment centers, including those without an on-site gym, with clear calls to action to start a partnership conversation.
- Events System: Annual fundraisers like Reps For Recovery and Monster Mayhem have their own event pages with registration details, dates, and logistics. Past events are preserved in an archive, giving the site year-over-year depth and supporting sponsor confidence.
- Team and Board Bios: Each team member, trainer, and board member has a detailed bio presented through a clean popup interface, letting visitors explore deeper personal stories without leaving the page.
- Donation and Sponsorship Pathways: Multiple entry points for giving, sponsoring a site, and partnering are placed throughout the site and in the footer, making it easy for visitors to take the next step.
- Testimonials and Community Supporters: Participant stories and a gallery of community supporter logos reinforce PByT's credibility and reach.
- Content Management System (CMS): Built on WordPress with Divi, the site gives PByT's team full control to add events, update team bios, and share new stories as the organization grows.
- Responsive Design and Social Integration: Fully responsive across devices, with Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram connections in the footer for ongoing community engagement.
Outcome:
The final website gives Powered By Transformation a strong, flexible platform for growth. It clearly communicates the mission, supports year-round fundraising through its events system, and makes it easy for treatment centers, donors, and supporters to connect with the organization. Feedback from the PByT team has been positive, with the site serving as a central hub for every aspect of their work.
Conclusion:
The Powered By Transformation project reflects my commitment to nonprofit website design that balances mission clarity with practical function. By building a site that serves partners, participants, donors, and event attendees equally well, I helped PByT extend their reach and keep the focus on the transformational work they do every day.
